Getting here

1) Venue of the Colloquium

The Colloquium will take place on the campus of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. This campus is outside the city center, but it is easily accessible from the city center by suburban train. There are trains every 10/15 minutes and the journey time is about 25 minutes.

The line to take is the C-4 (see the map). All trains with destination Colmenar Viejo or Alcobendas-San Sebastián de los Reyes stop at the University. The University station is Cantoblanco-Universidad.

From the center of Madrid you can take the C-4 train at any of the following stations (marked in blue in the map): Atocha / Sol / Nuevos Ministerios / Chamartín.

2) Location within the University

At the exit of the Cantoblanco-Universidad train station, there will be staff from the organization of the colloquium who will show you how to get to the different spaces where the colloquium will take place. There will also be signposts. In the map you can see the four different locations within the campus important for the colloquium:

  1. Train Station. There are trains to and from Madrid every 10/15 minutes.
  2. Faculty of Philosophy (Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, see the map in the following section). The following activities will be held:
    • Lecture rooms (Faculty Meeting Room and classrooms): for all the papers.
    • Faculty Conference Room: for final plenary session of Prof. Giannakis and Closure on Saturday June 18th.
    • Final lunch on Saturday June 18th.
  3. Faculty of Economics (Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales): The following activities will be held:
    • Reception on Thursday June 16th.
    • Opening session on Thursday June 16th.
    • Plenary session by Prof. Crespo on Thursday June 16th.
    • Plenary session by Prof. Probert on Friday June 17th.
  4. Plaza Mayor: the mensa of the University is located in this complex.

3) Faculty of Philosophy

Papers and posters will be presented in the spaces of the Faculty of Philosophy (Facultad de Filosofía y Letras).

The following rooms will be used:

  1. Meeting room of the Department of Classical Philology (third floor): reception desk from Thursday 16th to Saturday 18th.
  2. Room 1 for lectures all the days: Meeting room of the Faculty.
  3. Rooms 2, 3, 4 and 5 for Thursday 16th: II-204, II-206, II-207, II Bis 204
  4. Rooms 2, 3, 4 and 5 for Friday 17th and Saturday 18th: IV-101, IV-103, IV-104, IV-105
  5. Conference room: Plenary session Saturday 18th and Closure.
  6. Cafeteria: Final lunch, Saturday 18th.
